Walking Tours
With so much to see at every turn, Puerto Vallarta is tailor made for walking. Strolling the smooth-surfaced oceanfront promenade known as the Malecon in El Centro is a breeze for all ages and a great way to get a feel for the town. The same goes for the Marina Vallarta Malecon, which overlooks impressive yachts and mountains. The new pedestrian bridge over the mouth of the Rio Cuale makes it a cinch to stroll along the ocean for about a mile, between Hotel Rosita to the north and La Palapa restaurant on Los Muertos Beach to the south. En route you can enjoy the Main Plaza, Los Arcos theater, Guadalupe Church, fantastic sculptures, street artists and performers, the pretty and peaceful Isla Cuale with its cultural center, and Puerto Vallarta’s most popular beach. One block away is the popular Olas Altas street, chockablock with restaurants, bars, shops and galleries to check out, as are the routes of all these walking tours.
