January 13-17th : Festival of the Sweet name of Jesus “Fiesta del Dulce Nombre de Jesus“

February: Oaxaca’s Carnival (takes place on the last Tuesday before Ash Wednesday)

March 21st:Birthday of Benito Juarez
March 21-31st : Festival de Primavera (Spring Festival) .Celebrated since 1982, this festival forms part of the annual festivities that commemorate the founding of the city. The festival has such diverse activities as music, dance and literature. It takes place in the Teatro Macedonio Alcala, and in various plazas and gardens throughout the city
Good Friday : The passion and Crucifixion are acted out with holy images, Festival of the Holy Cross of Huatulco
April 26-29th : Fiesta de San Pedro Martir de Verona
May 1st : Labor Day
May 3rd : Day of the Holy Cross “Día de la Santa Cruz”
May 5th :Cinco de Mayo
May 10th : Mother’s Day
May 10th : Isthmus of Tehuantepec
July 16th : Guelaguetza “Lunes del Cerro” This is the city’s most important festivity. It offers dance presentations from seven of Oaxaca’s most representative regions. The show takes place in the Guelaguetza Auditorium, located on the Cerro del Fortin. The auditorium holds 11,000 spectators.
August 13-18th : Fiesta del Barrio de Santa Maria Relatoca
August 26- September 2nd:Fiesta de Santa Rosa de Lima
September 7-9th : Festival of the Lord of the Nativity "Fiesta del Senor de La Natividad"
September 14th : Cowboy Day – with rodeos all over Mexico
September 15-16th : Independence Day “Día de la Independencia”
September 23-30th : Festival of the Precious Blood of Christ "Fiesta de la Preciosa Sangre de Cristo”
October 18th : Day of the Virgin of the Rosario
November 1-2nd : Day of the Dead “Dia de los muertos”
November: November Party “Fiestas de Noviembre”
December 12th : Guadalupe Day
December 18th : Virgin of Solitude (One of the most elaborate religious festivals in Oaxaca City)
December 23rd : Night of the Radishes (Are unique to Oaxaca, horticulture’s exhibition whose highlight are small figures carved from radishes)
December 25th : Christmas Day ("Feliz Navidad")
