Hiking and Climbing

Guadalajara has two large parks where you can enjoy climbing at Barranca de Huentitán, a favorite natural park among adventure sports enthusiasts. There are also the volcanoes that form part of the Eje Neovolcánico Transversal  (Neo volcanic Transversal axis) that crosses the country from Nayarit to Veracruz. The highest in the region is the 2,920-mtere high Tequila volcano, north of the famous Nevado de Colima and about 50 km from the city.
